DayBook~

Outside my window~ rain, rain, rain. Very green grass, wet deck and deck chairs and 2 tables that very much need washing down. That is one job I hate.

I am thinking ~ today I am off and so wanted to get outside and weed and trim my flower beds. I go around the beds with a shovel type tool that is straight and cut in every spring to keep the bed lines sharp and grass free. Not today. Flex. I have 2 closets left in my de-clutter goal. After today I will have one left, Lord willing.

I am wearing~ jean capris, I am barefoot. Wearing my green "Cape May Lima Bean" shirt my hubby bought me from the Lima Bean Festival last year during our Cape May Adventure with Chip and Kim and Doug! I think it's cute!

I am thankful for~ rain God sends because it means May flowers.

From the learning rooms ~ Books, books and more books!

From the kitchen ~ Coffee made by my honey. He does make the best coffee ~ even better than Starbucks. That is a fact.

I am creating ~ margin in my house. De-clutter continues. I want to be able to open a closet and find room. So far the closets I've done are efficient and have room! I have decided I only keep what I really like. I'm not a knick knack type girl. But I do like dishes....ha.

I am going ~ nowhere in the van today. Bible Study tonight! I like Bible Study!

I am reading ~ a new book. I did something unusual for me this week. I picked up a book, read 2 chapters which were not very good. I actually closed the book and returned it to the Library. I have always finished books I start. Not anymore. There are way too many good books to waste time on the not so good ones!

I am hoping ~ the Lord uses me today for his glory!

I am hearing ~ the pitter patter of rain against the wood deck just outside the sliding door. There are 3 birds chirping also...so wonderful to hear.

Around our home ~ we are all moving slow. Me included. I should not have stayed up into the wee hours reading last night. Not good.

A few of my favorite things ~
  • Spring
  • Root Beer Floats
  • Flowers....all kinds
  • Digging in the dirt.
  • Holding babies
  • Grass between my toes.
Thanking God for this time of year,
Lynette

DayBook~

Outside my window~ dreary and chilly.

I am thinking ~ I am a blessed woman to be married to a guy who has a heart for MISSIONS, it began back when we were in the Christian Missionary Alliance ~ loved having Missionaries stay with us twice a year! Sending those to share the Gospel is such a tremendous blessing! I can't GO yet I can SEND! AND support!

I am wearing~ black cotton socks, black cozy pants, red long sleeve flowered shirt, red zippered cotton jacket and a smile.

I am thankful for~ a mobile phone I can use to text my honey in Mexico and get updates of all going on in Chihuahua. The privilege to pray for them all!

From the learning rooms ~ Math with Mrs. Barrett, the ultimate Math Professor!

From the kitchen ~ Coffee by Hannah. She takes after her Dad in making coffee.....yum! Since it is just us three girls this week....cooking has been light!

I am creating ~ cards today! Today is a stamping day for me ~ a true delight to make cards for my hubby to use, me to use and to give as gifts!

I am going ~ to clean out two closets this week! The de-clutter continues and we are looking pretty good! I am determined to not have every shelf and closet full~

I am reading ~ Scandalous Freedom by Steve Brown ~ lots of food for thought!

I am hoping ~ my family has a great time in Germany in May. Natascha is taking Joschua and Lorelei to see their German Grandma and Rebekah and Hannah are going along to help and enjoy Germany! I know they will have sooo much fun!

I am hearing ~ a crow 'gawking' out back, sitting on the edge my bird bath. Taffy snoring, sitting on my lap.

Around our home ~ We cleaned yesterday and got most of the winter cob webs swept away. (why do we get so many cob webs at the top of our walls?) I was hoping for a day warm enough to open all the windows! Not!

A few of my favorite things ~
  • Coffee and devos
  • watching the birds in the morning, especially using our bird baths (we have 3)
  • kissing my hubby good bye in the morning and kissing him hello with a big hug when he returns.
  • being in the middle of a good book.

DayBook~

On this very snowy day ~ This is what I am dreaming of!

Outside my window~ Bright white snow! Sunshine and shadows!

I am thinking ~How much God loves me. Not because I'm perfect, but because I'm his daughter, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! My heart is full of praise and thanksgiving to the King of Kings. Every hair on my head is counted and the tally changes every day, sometimes by the hour. He cares for me. 1Peter 5:7

I am wearing~ Red plaid flannel cozy pants, long sleeve soft white cotton shirt. Black cotton socks and black slippers my girls gave me a year and half ago. A grin on my face as I squint at the bright snow. Messy hair today~ it's okay~ I am at peace with it and everyone says it looks fine....ha ha

I am thankful for~ a warm bed at night. Our faithful furnace which keeps our house cozy during these winter days. The man of my dreams who shares these with me. Kids who love Jesus Christ. My 8 munchkins of love. God's presence with me always. Friends to love and who love me.

From the learning rooms ~ snow, snow forts, snow ball fun, snow shovels in full gear.

From the kitchen ~ Panera Bread blessings here. I ate my warmed 'bear claw' with my coffee this morning. Am now sipping my 3rd mug of delicious, fragrant coffee made by my man. He was up at 5:30am to take Rebekah to work at Chik fil-A today. Snow or not, Chik fil-A is serving chicken!

I am creating ~ room in our school room today. This room is the 'bain' of my life. It always looks messy. Always has piles. Always is in a state of flux. Always bothers me. It is the catch ALL of every piece of mail, papers, things to leave, things to deliver, things no one knows what to do with. It is the last room we leave when going out and the first room we enter when arriving. So it catches everything from purses, book bags, papers, mail, keys, junk and recycle stuff that needs to be put in the recyle bins. Ugh. Not like. Today I tackle it.

I am going ~ to stay home all day. No work. No school. No meetings. No shopping. No going out. Period. Maybe a walk through the snow would be nice though!

I am reading ~ 1.The Knowledge of the Holy(re-reading) ~A.W. Tozer 2.Laura Bush, Spoken from the Heart ~ Laura Bush 3. The Judas Strain ~ James Rollins 4. Sewing for Dummies ~ hey, always learning new stuff! Stayed up til 1am, reading #3, almost done. Good ending! (All this goes without saying I read my Bible everyday ~ most days~ best BOOK of ALL) I have been slack in writing in my journal for a week or so. Need to write in it more than 2 or 3 days.......a week.

I am hoping ~ spring comes soon....love spring. Winter, not so much.

I am hearing ~ the furnace fan running, Dave is working downstairs, after he diligently shoveled the 'whole' drive and walks (not a quick job). Hannah is in her room reading. Taffy and Emma are napping beside me as I type. Caleb and Rebekah working.

Around our home ~ Since yesterday was off, all the laundry is done and put away. The house was straightened up before we all went to bed last night. Kitchen is clean and dishwasher emptied. (I don't love that job) We are in good shape around here. Need to get the crock pot going for dinner.

One of my favorite things ~ a day off to read and putter around. Give hugs. Hand out kisses. Make fresh brewed iced tea. Healthy food. I love love love pears. Do you love pears? I could eat a pear everyday. Only the good ripe ones though. Not the ones that taste like nothing. The bag of pears from Aldi's last week went in the trash. I have 3 from Giant, waiting for me in the bin right now. Maybe I will eat all 3 today. No, I will save one for lunch tomorrow. Self control is good.
  • A few plans for the rest of the week~
  • Play offs in Basketball. Tomorrow games. Bible Study at 7:15pm
  • If we win those, then we have one more on Thursday too.
  • Week end plans shaping up too. Breakfast Sat. with a friend.
  • March Madness is right around the corner and we enjoy that!
Off to tackle our 'school room' messes. Can I get it done in one day? Yes-I can. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can (wooden wall plaque in the room...smile)

DayBook~

One of my sweet Valentine blessings from the Love of my life!
He had 60 of them all over our home!! No wonder I adore him so much!

Outside my window~ Blue skies, no wind, brown grass, trees look dead but are not, little bit of snow left in shade on deck. The smell of spring is in the air here.

I am thinking ~ about the arrival of spring ~ my favorite time of the year. Things are NOT as they appear. Trees look dead, but are alive. My daffodils are up 4 inches, close to the brick of our house (we face south). I love this! I remember 'things are not as they appear' in life too. God is at work, even when things 'appear' dead! HOPE!

I am wearing~ Black knit pants, black socks, red long sleeve flowered shirt, black soft, cardigan sweater and a smile.

I am thankful for~ Valentine blessings and all the love it brings out that is always there, just quiet.

From the learning rooms ~ Hannah is having Math at school with Mrs. Barrett who happens to be the best Math Teacher alive on earth!

From the kitchen ~ Dinners in the crock pot as our afternoon is tied up.

I am creating ~ happy thoughts of those I love and cherish.

I am going ~ to try to get outside and walk today, early, mid-day or tonight, I don't care when, I just want to walk....a long walk.

I am reading ~ 3 books currently. My usual practice actually. Only after my precious 'devo' time alone with the LORD!

I am hoping ~ snow is gone for 2011 ~ yet my hubby told me yesterday of a saying that says "two snows on a robin's back". We saw 4 robins on Saturday. He said we have 2 snows left ~ maybe they will be small snows.

I am hearing ~ birds chirping in my back yard! Proof of springs arrival. Taffy and Emma went to "Pawsitively Perfect" early this morning to get bathed and clipped and beautified--nice! I am home alone, which is a rare delight! I can therefore 'hum' as loud as I want.....

Around our home ~ continuing "my de-clutter" project. Out this afternoon with errands and a special appointment too.

One of my favorite things ~ observing the arrival of spring. Monday I was able to sit outside and eat my lunch in the sunshine and read for 30 minutes. As the days warm, I will do that more and more...get out in the sunshine. I will also limit my reading to 30 minutes at a time during spring so I have more time outside in the gardens.
A few plans for the rest of the week~ letters to write. I am behind on my letter writing and notes to send. This is the end of the Basketball Season too. Play offs begin next week. All three of our teams won yesterday...GO TEAM!

DayBook~

My view out the window from my desk in my bedroom where I 'meet' each morning!

The view from our family room this morning....3 inches of snow!

My summer swing ~ given to me years ago by my older boys and Dave. Matthew Scott designed it into our deck he and his friends built for us long ago! I can hear it calling my name ~ a favorite summer reading place for me!

DayBook

Outside my window~ White, white, white snow everywhere! 3 inches of the white fluffy stuff.

I am thinking ~ My sins were red as scarlet and now are white as snow because Jesus Christ came, born of a virgin, lived a perfect life without one sin, died on the cruel cross for me, was raised from the dead and sits at the right hand of God my Father. My past, present and future sins all forgiven. I am so thankful and amazed.

I am wearing~ Black cords, black socks, red long sleeved shirt and a big smile.

I am thankful for~ Jesus dying on the cross for me. For HIS presence with me every minute of every day.

From the learning rooms ~ Snow day.....took the day off from school stuff.

From the kitchen ~ Coffee....and more COFFEE. Hot chocolate too for the girls.

I am creating ~ Card making after lunch.

I am going ~ to stay home all day and evening! I am a home body for sure! Maybe a walk in the snow later today...if everyone is willing ~Taffy and Emma will love it too.

I am reading ~ 'Girls Gone Wise in a world gone wild' by Mary Kassian, 'Generous Justice' by Timothy Keller and 'The Judas Gate' by Jack Higgins. I will finish the last one today and half way through the other two.

I am hoping ~no more snow the next few days so Natascha, Joschua and Lorelei can come for Hannah's 17th Birthday celebration over the week end.

I am hearing ~ Rebekah and Hannah talking together as I type.

Around our home ~ Snow day here today....so it is a lazy day!

One of my favorite things ~cup of tasty coffee, good book and warm throw, occasionally looking outside at the white snow and everyone in my family doing the exact same thing----reading!
A few plans for the rest of the week~ Our Hannah Joy will be 17 on Saturday. My baby is going to be 17 ~ WOW! She had a big Sweet Sixteen Birthday party last year so this year is just family. Since we had six children Dave and I decided early on that we would have birthday parties every other year rather than every year. Well, we do celebrate every year, just not big parties. Dave asks them where they would like to go for a meal out as a family. They all have different ideas. Sometimes breakfast, sometimes lunch, yet usually dinner. I'll post about this another time!
Enjoy your day everyone.....snow or not!
Toasty and warm here, Lynette

Valentine Ideas for 2011? I'm thinking...........

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...sunny, blue skies, snowy patches on the grass and snow covered deck. Cold but not as cold as it was. The air seems to smell of the hint of spring......

I am thinking...how good God is to me. He is ever with me and loves me abundantly. He forgives me. He gives me grace constantly. He is my refuge and tower of strength. He has made me for a purpose. I can trust HIM!

I am thankful for...God's Word. It gives me life. Guidance and courage are found in it. I thirst for it and I get soooo 'hungry' when I neglect to 'eat from it'.

From the learning rooms...Hannah has the BEST math teacher and it is not me!

From the kitchen...ice tea is brewing on the counter. Not much going on there right now.

I am wearing...black cotton socks, grey sweat pants and a red long sleeve tee shirt with ribbons on it. Oh, and a big smile.

I am creating...space today in my house by de-cluttering spaces like drawers and shelves.

I am going...to be working on my continuing de-cluttering winter project. If I haven't used it (or anyone in my family hasn't used it) in the last 12 months ~ good bye!

I am reading...my Bible systematically, using M'Cheyne's calendar for daily readings and D.A. Carson's "For the Love of God~ Companion for Discovering the Riches of God's Word" that goes along with M'Cheyne's.
I have been reading through the whole Bible for years now and I was thrilled the 1st year I did it as to the huge blessing it was in my life. There are not words to explain it. I regret I got started so late in life in this rich blessing.

I am hoping...Spring comes early this year. I am not fond of snow and ice....smiling!

I am hearing...my oldest daughter's pen writing quietly as she is writing in a pocket sized journal across the room from me.

Around the house...a puttering kind of day. I like to have a list on these kinds of days, so I get more done, faster. The de-cluttering is a goal and will not be done in one day or one week or probably one month. I am taking one room at a time. Right now, I am in our bedroom. Monday I was able to get half my desk done. Half. My desk (which sits in our bedroom---privacy!) is one of my favorite places. My goal is to streamline it. So I cleaned out and sorted and threw out three drawers worth of paper and stuff,on Monday. Today I will tackle the middle one and the other three on the right side. (Maybe I will blog one day on this task...ha)

One of my favorite things...is organizing to be more efficient. I recently read that the average person wastes 55 hours a year 'looking' for things misplaced or lost items in their house. 55 HOURS? Who wouldn't want to get those hours back? ME---I do!

A few plans for the rest of the week:Basketball Games as my hubby is Boys Varsity Coach, Rebekah is Girls Varsity Coach (Caleb is her assistant Coach)and Hannah plays on the Girls Varsity team too. I sit and cheer and watch. Can you see we ALL like Basketball? It's a family thing!

Looking forward: Valentines Day is Monday. It is a cute holiday. I like it. I am sure every little girl likes it. Big ones too. When my children were little we made Daddy Valentines. Now that mine are all grown, I still give each a Valentine. I had to get creative. Now I just give them a Starbucks $5 gift card or some such little thing. Yet for my honey, I make his Valentine myself!
The above picture is from 2009 when he surprised me on Valentines Day!!! Sweet memories and I am glad I have a picture to remember by!

Who will you give a Valentine to? If your wallet is empty, make one. A card. A cake. Cookies. A ribbon with heart of endearing words. Anything! Just do it ~ demonstrate Love!

Because HE first loved us, Lynette

DayBook~

Outside my window~ rain, rain, rain. It rained all night ~ it is a pretty sound with a slight breeze, very warm, seventy degrees outside. I have every window in the house open this morning!

I am thinking ~ How blessed I am. I am a daughter of the KING. I am His and He is mine. I have a godly adorable husband. I have been given six children who I love. I have 8 grandchildren (one soon to be born!) who make me smile. I have loving family on both sides! I have a wonderful church family. I have everything I need and way beyond! God has provided a warm and cozy home. I am blessed beyond measure!

I am wearing~ bluejeans, black short sleeved tee, and bare feet ~ I might be changing into shorts shortly!

I am thankful for~ LIFE! All the good, bad and ugly of it. He has a plan and purpose for all of it. I trust HIM!

From the learning rooms ~ we will continue to work on Hannah's sewing project this afternoon. Her skirt is done. She is working on Rebekah's now. We hope to wear them for the Thanksgiving season!!!

From the kitchen ~ Gourmet Chicken and baked potatoes, glazed carrots and a green salad. No dessert...cutting sugar!

I am creating ~ a surprise gift for a young friends Birthday!

I am going ~ to make applesauce and apple pies (for the freezer for winter) this morning as Hannah works on school work near me.

I am reading ~ has slowed down big time. School is in progress, so my extra reading time is minimal. I still read at least 20 minutes every night before I go to bed though. I am #3 on the waiting list for Francine Rivers New Book at our local Library also. She is my favorite author~

I am hoping ~ the LORD saves those I am praying for!

I am hearing ~ ducks quacking as they fly over head. They are headed south. I love watching them in formation!

Around our home ~ I am going to clean out the frig and wash it down this morning, pulling from the wall and doing under it too. Also need to get the rest of my winter things out of storage and put rest of my summer things in a tub for the attic. (I hate this job)

One of my favorite things ~ a good cup of coffee with my Bible and journal early in the morning.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

DayBook~

DayBook

Outside my window~ it is dark as I was up at 6am ~ today I go to Church with my hubby for a day of work. I love my part time job.....2 days a week. I answer the phones, greet visitors, help little ones, and do lots of other things to help those around me, plus some computer work too. It is more ministry than 'work'.

I am thinking ~ God is so good. He gives good sleep. He is with me. He loves me and has a plan for today. How blessed I am to belong to HIM. He is my life and I am so grateful HE is in control of everything that comes my way, even the things He with holds.

I am wearing~ pink capris, sandals and a pink plaid blouse, and most importantly a big smile!

I am thankful for~ my hubby who just made a big pot of his delicious coffee and even poured me a cup, I am married to the most wonderful man in the whole world. He has a servants heart galore, is smart, godly, and loves me unconditionally! God is so good to give me such a kind and loving husband!

From the learning rooms ~ we are working on practical skills this year more this year. Hannah is a junior and so she is doing extra things like learning to cook, sew and make gifts for others. She is already a great 'homemaker' in that she can manage laundry, cleaning, gardening, making a shopping list and shopping and many other skills. Yes, academics are important, but so many young ladies never learn how to make a 'home' a haven for their family. She is even good at making a budget already! I like that!

From the kitchen ~ homemade soup this week. Hannah will make dinner tonight since I don't get home til 4:30pm.

I am creating ~ cards this week to send to others as encouragements.

I am going ~ to the Orchard this week to get apples to teach Hannah how to make applesauce and freeze it for winter.

I am reading ~ 3 books at once. My usual practice! Harder to read during the school year. So it goes much much slower than summer time.

I am hoping ~ the LORD saves those I am praying for!

I am hearing ~ the shower run as Caleb just jumped in as he prepares to go to work today at Panera Bread, Rebekah rooting around getting ready for college and Hannah singing as she is getting ready to go with me and her dad to Church (she does school there on tuesdays and thursdays in the mornings)

Around our home ~ organizing and getting ready for winter outside.

One of my favorite things ~ laying on the bed in either Hannah's room or Rebekah's room and chatting away with them. Girl time ~ I love it!

Grateful to be HIS, Sherry

DayBook~

Outside my window~ the sun is shining and the coolest soft breeze is blowing my Canna Lilies in the wind. The soil is wet from storms last night and not a cloud in the blue sky....chipmunk playing on our deck.

I am thinking ~ how delightful it is to have my first cup of coffee in the morning with my lovey. It doesn't happen too often, as he is up and gone, he is an early riser (like 5:30am everyday) and his feet hit the floor running ~ so mornings like this are a gift.

I am wearing~ an Open Bible Mexico Missions Team blue tee shirt, navy shorts and barefoot! My hair is crazy (not combed) and a huge smile on my face!

I am thankful for~ friends we have all over the East Coast. Shannon and Katie were here from Utica, New York for the week end and it was pure fun!

From the learning rooms ~ working on Hannah portfolio this morning!

From the kitchen ~ hope to make it to the Orchard this week to get peaches....and make jam.

I am creating ~ a pretty bookmark to give the girls at Ocean City this year....I need to make 25 or 30!

I am going ~ to our pool today with a friend, taking lunch along with us!

I am reading ~ a new Daniel Silva book.....he is a fun read ~ spy novel!

I am hoping ~ God woos and draws near to HIMSELF all those I am praying for daily.

I am hearing ~ the fan running in Hannah's room, she has the warmest room in the house, it has no return vent (only room that does not) so needs a fan.

Around our home ~ getting lots of little projects done this summer. My hubby painted and sealed the garage floor (I love it-easy to sweep---too small to put a car in, we use it as a mud room), working on re-organization of school room, cleaning out closets(now things don't fall out--ha)and painting wood work around the house.

One of my favorite things ~ going to our local dairy farm for homemade ice cream at Broom's Bloom (look it up on Google). We went last night with friends and had great fellowship together! I had a small with coconut chip chip and coffee flavor (they were out of peanut butter---my personal favorite!)

Grateful to be HIS, Sherry

DayBook~

My DayBook~

Outside my window~ humid wet air on the sliding door. Green grass and not a stir in the garden, altho the birds are enjoying the birdbath in our back garden.

I am thinking ~ summer is going way too fast. Summer is my favorite time of year, all the smells, pretties to see and delicious fruit of summer. Love our squash--all kinds!

I am wearing~ a white skirt, turqoise top, flips and coffee in hand....as I prepare to go to the office with my darlin' man this morning.

I am thankful for~ Sunday School.....learning all about Christ and HIS ways.

From the learning rooms ~ school room lookin' good. I am 75% there in cleaning out and re-organizing. Got rid of lots of old stuff and streamlining things for Hannah this coming year! She reminded me to 'push hard' on her this year as she will be a Junior in HS.

From the kitchen ~ lots of goodies...peaches! Going to the orchard this week and get my yearly bushel of delicious, juicy, big PA peaches! Peach pie~ my favorite!

I am creating ~ Cards and more cards. Also going to JoAnns to pick up some material for matching skirts for me, Bekah and Hannah. Hannah is going to be making matching skirts for us with my helping hands!

I am going ~ to lunch today with a girlfriend. Just to chat and pray together!

I am reading ~ a really good spy novel for pleasure. Also a really really good Spurgeon Book after finishing "Faithful Parents" ~ a book filled with HOPE and GRACE for every parent and Grandparent!

I am hoping ~ God woos and draws near to HIMSELF all those I am praying for daily.

I am hearing ~ Taffy snoring as she lays next to me on the couch~ so cute.

Around our home ~ laundry day, so we are on load number 3 with 3 to go. I love getting all my laundry done in one day....and then forgotten about until the next Monday ~ way cool! (when my kids were little, I did 2 loads everyday ~ always always laundry either in the basket or waiting to be folded or waiting to be put away...ugh)

One of my favorite things ~ listening to music on my ipod station in my room with the music blaring loud.....to the chagrin of my kiddos! I have spent many many years listening to lullabies, kids praise, teenagers wild and then my hubbys classical. I like it all ~ but especially praise music ~ and yes, I will admit a bit of the Beach Boys (after all, I am still a California Girl at heart)

My DayBook~

Outside my window~ Sunny breeze blowing my pretty yellow coriopsus and stella dorio lilies in the wind. A chipmunk is sitting on the bench eating something.

I am thinking ~ How good God is to me. I don't deserve it yet what a gift of love! My heart is full!

I am wearing~ white capris, lime green sleeveless shirt, flip flops and a big smile! Heading to the Church office with my hubby ~ coffee in hand.

I am thankful for~ God's redeeming GRACE in my heart and life. I am happy to be a daughter of the King Eternal.

From the learning rooms ~ it is getting re-organized and in a state of flux and is in a messy condition right now~ I will get there!

From the kitchen ~ not much going on in here right now. It does need sweeping though! I need to get motivated and back in the cooking mood after more than 3 weeks off ~ Mexico's food was delicious ~ maybe I will make homemade tortillas today?

I am creating ~ cards...lots of them. I am trying to get ahead on this. My hubby uses hundreds every year and I desire to get lots made for him this summer.

I am going ~ to weed this afternoon and play in the dirt. It rained last night, so the ground should be good for weeding! Only a little weeding is necessary as we did mulch!

I am reading ~ just finished David Baldacci's new book and heading into another spy novel. I am also re-reading "Forgotten God" by Francis Chan. Asked Rob for a recommendation of Spurgeon to read at night also. Waiting to hear back. Smile!

I am hoping ~ those I am praying for come to Lord soon. God is faithful!

I am hearing ~ lovely prasie music playing in our house.

Around our home ~ there is quiet, as our sweet girls are in California for two weeks, visiting their cousing Allison.

One of my favorite things ~ sitting on the couch with my hubby and talking and laughing together. We are doing that often these days and I love it!

~My DayBook~

I am a blessed Mother of two very sweet, thoughtful and industrious daughters ~ Hannah Joy and Rebekah Lynette ~ pure and precious loveys! They made my favorite ~ Chocolate Cake with White icing---all the sweeter for their making of it!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...sunny breezy day, chipmunk playing on rail, squirrels (3) jumping and chasing each other in my flower bed. Birds pecking in the field where the farmer just cut the tall grass.

I am thinking...am I remembering everything for Mexico?

I am thankful for...the opportunity the Lord has given us to take this missions trip. Dave, Caleb, Rebekah, Hannah and I all get to go together.....very rare for us to all get to go together!

From the learning rooms...school is done for the year! Hannah is graduated to 11th grade in September....woo hoo! She is an excellent student and very diligent ~ a blessing!

From the kitchen...want to eat up all the food in the refrigerator and live off what we have til next Tuesday. No grocery shopping til we return. We will just make do with what we already have. Easy peasy!

I am wearing...white shorts, blue Ocean City 2007 t-shirt, barefoot and happy!

I am creating...cards to take to our missionaries in Mexico...encouragements and helps!

I am going...to be busy the next days. Shopping today. Planning today. Packing today. Errands today.

I am reading..."Seeing with New Eyes" by David Powlison. Also a spy novel by David Baldacci ~ I read instead of watching TV and movies. There is nothing like climbing into a really good book.

I am hoping...this will be a very purpose filled summer. Getting "Seeds Family Worship" CDs to help me memorize scriptures in song! (They are for kids but great for Moms too--smile) See Amazon.com for more info!

I am hearing...the air conditioner 'hum' in the background of my humming the new scripture song I am learning!

Around the house...we are packing, packing and more packing! Working on cards too and sewing up some special pillow cases too.

One of my favorite things...my coffee in the morning as I read my Bible!

A few plans for the rest of the week: finish up plans for our trip and packing continues. We have a wedding rehearsal and dinner tonight. Date night for Dave and I tomorrow night. Saturday we have graduation parties and then 6pm wedding. Sunday is sabbath day. Monday we travel to Frederick to give Emma and Taffy to Matthew Scott to keep while we are away. We leave for our Mexico Missions 10 day trip on Tues. at 4am.

Please pray for us as we travel to Mexico next week. Please pray we will have servants hearts, be flexible, helpful, share the Good News and for safety also. Pray for our team of 18, unity and love to each other, and that things will be glorifying to Christ. Thank you for praying!

Dave and I at the Mexican Dinner at Open Bible last month! The food was delicious and the company divine! Making plans for our Mexico Missions Trip in June!

FOR TODAY~
Outside my window...Sprinkles on the deck, a rabbit eating grass, and beautiful dark and light purple iris blooming in our big flower bed!

I am thinking...what a wonderful Sabbath day yesterday. Worship in the morning and then 10 people over for a mid day dinner ~ wonderful fellowship and Bible Study!

I am thankful for...being the King's daughter ~ God's grace to me! I have so much to be thankful for, to shout HIS praises out loud, to tell of HIS wonderful mercies and love, to speak words of encouragement to others. He cares for even the little sparrows, how much more for me!

From the learning rooms...Hannah practiced the piano already and is working hard on school work ~ she is a delight to my heart and life.

From the kitchen...oatmeal and coffee and grapefruit early. Leftovers for lunch and my own recipe of spaghetti pie for dinner. Green bean casserole too (Hannah's very favorite!)

I am wearing...Black flip flops, light blue denim Capri's, red tee shirt and my new glasses! (2nd pair in one month--story to follow later)

I am creating...cards today....a favorite rainy day task, in between laundry and school with Hannah!

I am going...to Wal-Mart today---contrary to a lot of people, I love Wal-Mart! Looking for 5 more resin chairs with high backs for the deck ....our old ones bit the dust last year! (dinner on the deck for Mother's Day ~ I am hoping!)

I am reading...a Maisie Dodds book ~ for fun!

I am hoping...to get more of 1 Corinthians 13 memorized today, I am slow at this...to my own chagrin! I think Dave has half the Bible memorized!

I am hearing...a fan run in Hannah's room ~ she's like her Mom, loves the fan!

Around the house...doing laundry today and our house is really neat and clean today as I spent Saturday cooking and cleaning! Is it wrong to like a neat and tidy house? (Doesn't happen often ~ smile!)

One of my favorite things...is watching the birds take a bath in our bird bath. We have two but one is too close to the house, they like to bath in the open area, to see predators coming.(Wisdom from hubby)

A few plans for the rest of the week: Getting ready for our 40th Anniversary week long trip away, just my honey and me. Also getting things together for our Mexico Missions Trip with our team from Church. Dave and I and our Caleb, Rebekah and Hannah have the privilege of all going this year! Excited!

Joschua (15 months old) praying before dinner last night ~ our Cutie pie!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...it's raining and pouring and the grass is growing. Everything is soggy wet including Emma and Taffy as they come back in. Dreary outside, but sunshiny inside!

I am thinking...
how much I have to be grateful for. My cup runneth over. Jesus is here, forgiving us, teaching us, and loving us!

I am thankful for...
knowing the Gospel, being redeemed by the Gospel and realizing GOD is the Gospel!

From the learning rooms...
no school this week! Hannah is on spring break and going to stay with her brother and family tomorrow as they travel back to PA.

From the kitchen...
sticky buns fresh out of the oven! Spaghetti tonight for dinner--my favorite!

I am wearing...
my new warm house shoes; I received as a gift from the kids at Christmas, black athletic pants, lime green shirt and black sweater and oh yes, a smile! Glasses instead of contacts and messy hair (becoming a Monday habit?)

I am creating...
happy music as I sing and hum again (note to self: ask if my humming is irritating to those around me.)

I am going...
to organize my pantry today with Natascha....she wants to help me---I love her! (she offered....she likes to organize...what a blessing she is to me!)

I am reading...
not a lot today as we are having a fun family day or two!

I am hoping...
my neighbors want to hear the Gospel again and again and again!

I am hearing...
talking, talking, laughing and laughing and giggles from Joschua in the back ground!

Around the house...
People.....Caleb even skipped classes to be here!

One of my favorite things...
my kids visiting us often, the more the merrier!

Changes...

My HEART REJOICES today ~ HE has given Natascha and Matthew Scott a new baby in Natascha's belly! Praise HIM Praise HIM ~ We are so excited to meet our newest GRAND BABY in November! Congratulations Natascha, Matthew Scott and Joschua--what a super big brother you will be Joschua!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... it is raining, raining, raining. After 3 glorious days of sunshine, blue skies and 70 degree temperatures, the rain has arrived and is literally making the grass BRIGHT green!

I am thinking... how fleeting life is. This life really is but a vapor....quickly passing.
I am thinking about the words in the song "I Will Glory in My Redeemer" ~I will glory in my Redeemer, whose pricless blood has ransomed me. Mine was the sin that drove the bitter nails, and hung Him on that Judgemnt tree. I will glory in my Redeemer, who crushed the power of sin and death. My only Saviour before the Holy Judge: The Lamb who is my righteousness. ~ Verse 2 ~I will glory in Redeemer. My life He bought, my love He owns. I have no longings for another, I'm satisfied in Him alone. I will glory in my Redeemer, His faithfulness my sanding place. Though foes are mighty and rush upon me, my feet are firm, held by His grace. ~ Verse 3 ~ I will glory in my Redeemer, who carries me on eagle's wings. He crowns y life with lovingkindness, His triumph song I'll ever sing. I will glory in my Redeemer, who waits for me at gates of gold. And when He calls me it will be paradise, His face forever to behold.

I am thankful for...The Cross. Resurrection Sunday! Soon to be celebrated by us because that is the day our calendar sets aside for this LIFE TRANSFORMING reality. New life ~ Natascha is pregnant and due in November ~ I love it!

From the learning rooms...Hannah has a cold and is not feeling well today. No classes and no soccer practice for her today. She will stay in and drink hot tea and sip soup. Caught it from Rebekah who caught it from a girl at work! Rebekah is all better now!

From the kitchen...leftover Lasagna from our Church dinner yesterday with Sean Rafferty and Chris Nickerson. They are our missionaries from Mexico that we met through Chad. There was lots of food leftover, and we are brought ours home. Thanks Lois, Bernie, David, Heather and your team for serving the body and for your servant hearts! We love you!

I am wearing...Black socks, gray sweats and a pretty green long sleeve t-shirt and a smile! My hair is a messy style today, just ran the comb through it and left it as it was...smile!

I am creating...messy piles of laundry to put into the washer. I am getting a late start. Spent lots of quiet time with the Lord, sipping coffee and 'thinking' and praying! Also wrote four cards to send out~ I better get in the school room today and 'create' some more cards!

I am going... nowhere today in the car, as we spent the week end...going, and going and going!

I am reading...4 books plus my Bible. Maybe I should stick to two and my Bible ~ smile!

I am hoping...those I am praying for are truly converted by HIS grace!

I am hearing...rumblings in the sky, either it is God's mighty thunder or Aberdeen Proving Grounds which blow and detonate bombs all the time to get rid of them, or dispose of (old bombs etc.) It was just confirmed that the rumblings ARE THUNDER and lightening from God!

Around the house...things are looking picked up and mostly put away. We had week end guests which was delightful. Some lights on in the house due to the cloudy and dark skies of hard rain coming down.

One of my favorite things...nice hot coffee and lots of it on a rainy damp day! A good book to read on a rainy day too. Hard to get to that on 'laundry day' though.

A few plans for the rest of the week: this looks like an easy week for me. If there even is such a thing for us ladies. Sometimes when I say that it turns into a wild frantic week! Saying good-bye to our friend Timmer tonight as he heads off to Army Basic Training and the Reserves. We will have the gang here to send him off. I work in the Church Office Tuesday and Wednesday. Bible Study Wednesday night. I hope to get some 'spring cleaning' done this week too! Like windows washed and the shed cleaned out! I know the Lord has plans for me, he will show me!
